On UC Davis Picnic Day, April 21, 2012, the C-STEM Center hosted hands-on playing with Mobots and RoboPlay Robot Show for children and their families at Bainer Hall lobby. A large number of kids enjoyed playing with Mobots and watching sample RoboPlay Robot Shows.

Barobo, Inc. Mobots awarded NSF Funding

A robotics company started by Professor Harry Cheng, Director of the C-STEM Center, and his former graduate student has been awarded an NSF SBIR Phase II grant from the National Science Foundation small business innovation research program.

C-STEM Center Director Delivered a Dinner Speech

Dr. Harry H. Cheng, Professor and Director of the C-STEM Center delivered a speech entitled “Engaging Students Learning STEM Subjects with Hands-on Computing and Robotics Activities in Classroom, Afterschool, and Out-of-School Programs” at the dinner for the California 4-H Association at the California 4-H Staff Conference on April 11. C-STEM Center Presents at Western Regional 4-H Science Academy Showcase

The C-STEM Center along with middle-school students from Harper Junior High School in Davis presented at the 2012 Western Region 4-H Science Academy Showcase on Monday March 26, 2012 showing off the Mobot and talking about the RoboPlay Competitions. Attendees to the showcase were 4-H faculty and staff from the thirteen western states.
