What is Distance Learning?

Distance learning describes a method of teaching in which lessons are conducted over the internet without the need for in-person interactions or classes.

Getting Started with C-STEM Distance Learning Resources

To get started with C-STEM’s Distance Learning Resources, fill out this form with your school information to request access. Once we have verified your school, you will receive be emailed a full roboblocky.com account and licenses that you can begin using immediately.

RoboBlocky is a block-based computing environment for learning coding, robotics, Arduino, and math. In addition to over 1,000 ready-to-go coding and robotics activities, teachers and students can create their own activities. It also allows teachers to manage their classes, add student accounts, assign homework, grade student submitted homework, and provide feedback.

With RoboBlocky teachers can immediately begin creating standards-aligned assignments using the ready-to-go activities that are geared for your students to practice and learn core concepts. Activities exist to support students across all grade levels from Kindergarten all the way through high school Math.

Creating and Managing Assignments

With RoboBlocky teachers can immediately begin creating standards-aligned assignments using the ready-to-go activities that are geared for your students to practice and learn core concepts. Using C-STEM Math-ICT Curriculum and C-STEM Studio for Distance Learning

C-STEM Studio, RoboSim, and Ch Professional are excellent resources for Distance Learning. Teachers and Students can get started by downloading the C-STEM Studio installer from our website, or by filling out the form on this page. C-STEM Studio bundles a number of additional software tools including Linkbot Labs and Ch Professional. K-12 students and teachers affected by the Coronavirus that fill out the form will also receive a Ch Professional software license.

Once C-STEM Studio is installed, students can work on various assignments and projects using Ch Professional. C-STEM Studio includes electronic copies of the following textbooks as well as sample programs and activities to supplement the courses:

  • Learning Computer Programming with Ch for the Absolute Beginner
  • Learning Robot Programming with Linkbot for the Absolute Beginner
  • Learning Physical Computing with Arduino for the Absolute Beginner

Verified C-STEM Districts can receive access to the following teaching resources including PowerPoints, Course Outlines, and Activities:

  • Math 7 with Computing and Robotics
  • Math 8 with Computing and Robotics
  • Integrated Math I with Computing and Robotics
  • Algebra I with Computing and Robotics

These resources can then be used in conjunction with RoboBlocky, Google Classroom, Zoom, or other videoconference and classroom tools to deliver quality teaching to students through distance learning.
