2016 C-STEM Girls in Robotics Leadership (GIRL) Camps

The C-STEM GIRL Camps are focused on motivating girls in middle school through peer mentoring, to learn computing and STEM concepts through a fun and exciting robotics-based curriculum. We hope this leadership camp will enable the attendees to serve as leaders and inspire other young girls to gain interest in science and technology through creating robotics clubs on their respective school campuses and participating in the RoboPlay Competition on the annual C-STEM Day. All GIRL Camps are funded by various sponsors and attendance is free for camp participants. In addition, camp participants are eligible for the Girl’s Leadership Award.

Camp Recruiting

Camp Assistant Coaches

We recruit two Assistant Coaches for each camp. High school girls who would like to be involved in the camp may apply to be Assistant Coaches. Assistant Coach positions are not paid.

Site Camp Coaches

Apply to be a Coach! We recruit two Coaches for each camp. Coaches should:

be in college
have experience with robotics and programming
work well with young girls
be willing to attend training sessions during the summer

Coaches will be compensated with $500 for the week.

Applications:

For all C-STEM events, you must first register on the C-STEM site before you can register for the event.

Enter the Registered Users Subsite (top right-hand side of the C-STEM page), and find “GIRL Camp” on the left menu bar of the subsite.
Select the link for applications.
All applications require a Recommendation Form from a teacher/community member. (Please note that the form will not save in a web browser. We suggest saving the form to your computer, then opening and completing the form in a pdf reader.)
After completion, please Submit Recommendation Form Here (or alternatively email to address found at bottom of form).
