Hewlett-Packard has continued to support the C-STEM Center through its recent donation of 80 HP laptops. Rex Schrader, Collette Adams and Roger Nattkemper, all HP employees, have worked tirelessly to improve students C-STEM Day experience by not only donating laptops that will be used by teams at the UC Davis competition site, but also to create the C-STEM Day challenges themselves, testing and reworking them from an industry standpoint. Rex Schrader also has revamped the scorekeeping system, creating a web based system that all three sites, Davis, Livermore and Orange County, will use on May 31st. This system will allow all participants to see real time changes and will allow the judges to wirelessly update scores through the use of handheld devices. For the Davis site, HP is also providing 35 tablets for the judges to use. The C-STEM Center plans on giving sets of the donated laptops to needy C-STEM schools in the greater Sacramento Area.
