Volunteering for RoboPlay

We are always looking for help with the RoboPlay Competitions. In addition to sponsorship, we need volunteers to help ensure that the competition runs smoothly. You can also help by sharing this volunteer flyer with your friends and colleagues!

RoboPlay Challenge Competition

What you can expect:

  • 1-2 Hours to prepare
  • 8am-4:30pm on May 18, 2019 at the competition in Davis or in Irvine
  • T-Shirt and Lunch are provided

The RoboPlay Challenge Competition is our culminating event. To ensure fairness, we recruit industry partners to help judge the competition. No coding, robotics, or engineering experience is necessary, it’s easy and rewarding, and anyone from any discipline can do it. We provide detailed scoring guides and procedures and have a user-friendly web-based scoring platform designed for use with a tablet or smartphone.

We need as many volunteer judges as we can get. In 2018 we had judges stationed across 40 competition tables. Add this to your Google Calendar.

RoboPlay Video Competition

What you can expect:

  • 2-4 Hours online on your own time May 6-12, 2019
  • Several cute, funny, intriguing, and moving 3-5 minute videos created by K-12 students

The RoboPlay Video Competition is an online robotics-based video competition that complements the RoboPlay Challenge Competition. Each year we recruit a panel of industry volunteers to judge the videos. Judging is simple. Much like the Challenge Competition, we provide a web-based scoring system with detailed scoring guides and information.

We can always use more help judging the Video Competition. In 2018 our panel of judges collectively reviewed over 80 videos.
