GIRL Camp FAQ

Q: What is GIRL Camp?

A: GIRL (Girls in Robotics Leadership) Camp is a free, week-long summer camp program for middle school girls entering the 7th or 8th grade. Campers learn robotics and STEM concepts through peer mentoring and a fun, interactive robotics activities.

Q: What is GIRL+ Camp?

A: GIRL+ Camp is a free summer camp program for female high school students entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade focused on motivating girls to pursue STEM related fields. The campers learn leadership skills, coding, and physical computing with Arduino and robotics.

Q: How much does GIRL camp cost?

A: GIRL Camp is FREE for all participants.

Q: Where is GIRL Camp? 

A: There are locations all across the United States and we are expanding every year. The list of locations for summer 2019 will be available in early 2019.

Q: How do I apply to GIRL Camp?

A: Contact girlcamp@c-stem.ucdavis.edu for more information on the application process. 

Q: How do I host a GIRL/GIRL+ Camp? 

A: Please contact girlcamp@c-stem.ucdavis.edu for more information on how to host a GIRL or GIRL+ Camp.

Q: Is GIRL Camp a residential camp?

A: No, GIRL Camp is not a residential camp and the girls do not stay overnight. 

Q: What experience do I need to apply to GIRL/GIRL+ Camp? 

A: There is no experience required to attend GIRL/GIRL+ Camp. We encourage all girls to apply regardless of skill level. 

Q: What grade do I need to be in to attend camp? 

A: GIRL Camp is for middle school students entering the 7th and 8th grade. GIRL+ Camp is for high school students entering the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.
