iMobot is an intelligent reconfigurable modular robot, with four controllable degrees of freedom. iMobot is designed for search and rescue operations, rapid prototyping of complex robotic systems, and research and teaching. iMobot has versatile locomotion including a unique feature of driving as though with wheels and lifting itself into a camera platform.
Modular robots can move using many types of locomotion, such as crawling, rolling end-over-end like a tank tread, or undulating like a trunk.
iMobot is reconfigurable. Multiple modules can be assembled as a snake, trunk, or humannoid.
