The building instructions for the Machine robot model can be found in the Lego Mindstorms NXT software. The building instructions can also be found on the web from various third party groups. For the autonomous data collection project the ultrasonic sensor must be attached to the model. The example assumes that the ultrasonic sensor is connected to port 3 on the NXT.

The ultrasonic sensor is atached between the motor and the touch sensor. Two pins hold the sensor to the arm. The first is located three holes from the end and the other is located five holes from the end.
