Web-Based Compensator Design via Root Locus

Description:

Given a unit feedback system shown in Figure 1, design a compensator that is in cascade with the plant to improve the steady-state error or transient reponse of the system. The passive compensator used to improve a system's steady-state error is the lag compensator. The passive compensator used to improve a system's transient response is the lead compensator. The compensated system is shown in Figure 2.
